Singing about his sexy tractor and how quickly times goes by, Kenny Chesney has learned to appreciate the good stuff especially since his youth was lost at just 19, when he recently admitted to Playboy that was when he started to go bald. Still, the ladies are all about his cowboy hat and boots, which always allow such extensive tours. "We're gonna try to mix it up again this year," Chesney said in a statement. "We've got a bunch of football stadiums because that is an experience like no other, but we're also going to do some amphitheaters and arenas...and knowing us, we'll probably pop up in a bar or honky tonk or two along the way.
What's important is getting out there, and bringing the music to life. That's so much a part of who I am, and what I do...and I'm ready." His music is all about having fun, limiting his romantic ballads to a minimum considering the man has been single most of his life (minus the minute marriage to Renee Zellweger, among others). "I never want to get to the place where I forget what those more intimate venues feel like," he says on his website. "One of the reasons I like to just show up on Duvall Street or play someone like Tootsies, which we did with the Wailers earlier this year, is to soak up that kind of energy, too. Those places bring a whole other kind of vibe and you never want to lose that feeling, because that is music that is so urgent..." he continued.
The four time Entertainer of the Year is supporting his 12th studio effort, Lucky Old Sun, which debuted at number one on The Billboard 200, selling 176,000 copies its first week. The album features the hit singles "Everybody Wants to Go to Heaven" and "Down the Road," a duet with Mac McAnnally. Sun City Carnival, the name of his tour, keeps on getting better, with more dates added nearly every week. The Tennessee native loves connecting with his fans, from the ones who follow him to every show to those tailgating in the grass seats at outdoor venues "seeing people out on the lawn with their friends, you know they're out there on a blanket in the cheap seats and they're singing along, meeting new people, totally living everything the summer's supposed to be about," Chesney says. Joining the easy going country boy on stage is Sugarland, Montgomery Gentry, Miranda Lambert and Lady Antebellum, all of whom at some point in their career have won their fair share of awards.
